The Regatta C.jsenter Medemblik is hosting the 2013 Melges 24 European C.jshampionship. The foundation for the C.jsenter was laid in 1998 and it was officially opened in 1999. The C.jsenter is very successful and highly praised by its users.

The Dutch main venue for international racing

Medemblik has always been the center for Olympic and international sailing in the Netherlands. Back in 1928 it has hosted the Olympic sailors for the Amsterdam Olympics, eversince its connection to highlevel international sailing has been maintained. It’s location on the IJsselmeer makes it unique as the prevailing south westerly winds generate a good shelter and challenging conditions for racing. Due to the nature of the IJsselmeer, it is currently the largest fresh water lake in Europe. It is also home for various other events such as the big boat 24 hrs Race which is tradionally finishing in Medemblik.

The sheltered harbour, the picturesque and inviting city center as well as the world class Regatta C.jsommittees have all contributed to Medembliks success as a sailing city!

General information about Medemblik

Medemblik is the smallest, prettiest and oldest city of West-Friesland along the former Zuiderzee (IJsselmeer), approximately 40 kilometres north of Amsterdam. It received town privileges in 1289. Nowadays, the city counts about 7.600 inhabitants. Due to its rich history, Medemblik is an interesting place to visit. The picturesque centre reminds you of the old days. In addition there are many tourist attractions, such as harbours, castle Radboud, a typical Dutch flourmill “de Herder” and many museums and establishments.
